Description / Abstract: This Practice and API STD 661 describe minimum requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, inspection, and testing of air-cooled heat exchangers. This Practice describes additions, modifications, and deletions made to API STD 661. In addition, this Practice describes decisions made regarding options offered by API STD 661. This Practice supplements, but does not supersede, API STD 661 and any applicable jurisdictional requirements.
Addition: Supplement as Follows:
Equipment that is part of a self-contained package unit (e.g., jacket water and lube oil coolers, integral radiators, humidified exchangers, or exchangers that are part of air-conditioning equipment) is not included.
Purpose
This Practice supplements API STD 661, 7th Edition, July 2013 - Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers for General Refinery Services. Together, this Practice and API STD 661 provide requirements for providing air-cooled heat exchangers.
