Description / Abstract: This Practice describes the requirements for design, construction, and testing for motors in accordance with IEC requirements for single-speed, horizontal or vertical, polyphase squirrel cage induction motors that are 1000 volts and below. This Practice covers motors that are totally-enclosed fan-cooled (IC 411) type, premium efficiency IE3, air-cooled, with IP 54 degree of protection for motors and auxiliaries, and with IP 55 degree of protection for bearing housing and terminal boxes.
