Charlotte County Utilities (CCU) is in the process of upgrading a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant(WTP) and well field that was a formerly privatized facility. Since the plant had been purchasedfrom a developer, the County needed a thorough assessment of the condition and capacity ofWTP and well field assets. The County was also deploying Datastream as their CMMS as aseparate project. It was decided by the Malcolm Pirnie Project Manager and CCU managementstaff that data collected during the value engineering study could be best utilized if it weremanaged in one location, in an easily accessible database that could later be used as a userinterface enhancement to the County's CMMS software. The County has 3D CAD filesdeveloped by the previous owner's engineering consultant, but nothing in geographic information systems (GIS) at the plant level.Based on available electronic information, and the current level of implementation of theCounty's CMMS, Malcolm Pirnie provided the integration approach discussed in this paper.
