Full Description
Phase II research investigates how the fabrication and inspection capabilities of suppliers are defined and how these capabilities affect the quality of the final product. The team clarified how to determine two key variables: the probability that the item is fabricated correctly and the probability that inspection activities can catch and repaIRnon-conformances. RT-308 also identified nine criteria that evaluate suppliers and could serve as a proxy to define the probability that the item has been fabricated correctly.
Includes a proof-of-concept spreadsheet tool, the Supply Chain Risk Profiler (SCRP) tool, that systematically collects and evaluates supplier performance data by incorporating the nine criteria to estimate values of the key variables for a particular supplier.
