This paper compares two methods to identify the location of a single localized error in demand estimation in real-time models of water distribution networks. The two methods compared are the overlay method used with a conventional hydraulic solver and the Unified Hydraulic Solver. The methods and their application are explained in detail and demonstrated on a small network problem drawn from the literature. Includes 5 references, tables, figures.
