This powerpoint presentation looks at three different arsenic treatment technologies (coagulation filtration, adsorption, and ion exchange) and gives examples of their use at different water treatment plants (WTPs). Information provided on each treatment technology at each plant includes: plant overviews;how the plant was permitted;what to look for and plan for duringstartup;how the plant is operating; and,operational and design issues discoveredduring startup and what could have beendone differently. The plants used as examples include: Sun City WestArsenic Removal Facility and ParadiseValley Arsenic Removal Facility, both using coagulation filtration; Mesa Falcon Field # 4Arsenic Treatment System and Chandler ArsenicTreatment System, both using adsorption; and, Mesa Falcon Field # 15Arsenic and Nitrate Removal System that uses ion exchange.
