RP-65 -- Modified Micro-Climates to Reduce Heat Stress in Dairy Cattle
Report / Survey by ASHRAE, 1972
In stock
Evaporative cooling and forced convection can be used effectively to improve the performance of dairy cattle in hot climates. Combining evaporation with air movement for cooling animals without complete confinement provides a new approach in utilizing these two old and common methods of cooling. Air velocities are low, but pre-cooled air passing the animal surfaces and inspired by the animals reduces heat stress sufficiently for substantial improvements in productive and reproductive performance.
