In systems involving heat exchangers, such as those in air conditioning, the dynamics of the heat exchanger as a component are important. An accurate knowledge of heat exchanger dynamics is essential in order to allow a control system design that will be stable, accurate, and responsive -- the three main considerations in control system design, In a larger sense, it will permit a more optimum design, meaning savings in energy and financial resources.
