This discussion concerns the coil run-around cycle or "The Coil Energy Recovery Loop" which it is most often called because the name is more descriptive. For short, call it "The Coil Loop."

The following discussion concerns a new coil loop performance and economic analysis computer program -- one of several in our industry developed to simplify the design process. One of the biggest deterrents in using the coil loop in the past was the difficulty of design. Accurately determining the system's balanced energy changes and heat recovery was a tedious and time-consuming operation. It took many hours of trial and error calculations. This new coil loop performance and economic analysis computer program is an invaluable aid in optimizing the many coil loop design parameters
