Proponents of non-smokerâs rights to clean air have been anxious to reinforce their position with scientific evidence of health risks associated with passive exposure to tobacco smoke. Strong emotional pressures have influenced the design and interpretation of research efforts in this area. However, the combined evidence so far obtained does not support the contention that passive smoking under prevalent conditions is conducive to objectively measurable health risks.
