A chilled water storage system, using the "Empty Tank Concept," was used for a 386,000 square feet (35,871 square meter) office building in downtown Los Angeles to reduce the operating energy cost by not operating the major cooling plant equipment during on-peak hours which run from 11 am to 7 pm on weekdays.
