Full Description

Describes a recently developed computer model that can assist designers in evaluating a smoke management system for an atrium or a covered mall. States the algorithm, which is the result of an initial effort to adapt zone modelling for atrium applications, could become an ASHRAE design tool. Evolution into such a standard tool requires validation of the numerical algorithm to assess its appropriateness for evaluating smoke management systems in spaces with large volumes and tall ceilings.
