As the adoption of wireless technology within the HVAC/building controls industry continues apace, interest and discussion over applying the newest generation of wireless mesh technologies among HVAC engineers has focused primarily on sensors and mesh sensor networks. Sensors, it would seem, are the most logical place to begin deploying new wireless mesh technologies for HVAC control. This was the first place wireless technologies were used in the HVAC industry. The greatest appeal of mesh technology is that it has become the newest avenue to reliability not only for wireless sensor networks, but for wireless controller networks as well.
