Full Description

The new patient tower at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill., has achieved an environmentally sensitive health-care facility, as well as LEED Gold. The tower uses recycled materials, features a green roof and has energy-efficient mechanical systems. The use of condensing boilers is not a widely used system in Illinois hospitals however this, along with other energy conservation measures, led to a 23.3% in-site energy savings and a 21.3% reduction in energy costs compared to the Standard 90.1 base case building.
