Large glazed facade results in high building heating and cooling loads, and thus significant financial and environmental burdens. Double skin facade (DSF) is one potential response to these problems. This seminar explores DSF dynamics, design, modeling, case studies, seasonal control strategies and energy efficiency. This session provides ASHRAE members with a fundamental understanding of DSF principles, challenges, key influential factors, evaluation criteria, and design and modeling approaches.
