For nearly 100 years, centrifugal compressors did not change much until the advent of the oil-free centrifugal magnetic bearing. Along with some concurrent technological advance, the oil free centrifugal compressor has become a mainstream HVAC industry technology solution for mid-size air- and water-cooled chillers.
